Compared to my IWC Portofino, this watch offers great performance and value for the price. It makes a quite agreeable noise, and I like how it is audible from the steering wheel when I'm driving. Obviously, it beats slower than an IWC, but I am more impressed with this Swatch than with my Portofino. (90 hours reserve compared to 42 of the IWC's)
Let's talk design. That dial, oh my. I fell in love with the celestial inspired "astronomical chart" instantly. Whether you love physics or astronomy, or just can't afford a Sidereal Scafusia, this is a perfect watch for you.
Some suggestions for Swatch:
Keep refreshing this collection/family! I would love to see a stainless steel version of this watch in the future.
1. The "jewel graphic" on the face is confusing at times, given its' similarities to the numerical markers. On a quick glance, the face is a garbled mess of dots.
2. Loud mechanics. The second hand is audible at a fair distance, and the automatic winding mechanism is quite loud at times. It's somewhat soothing to me, but wouldn't suffer from a more acoustically-sound back casing.
