My First "Real" Watch Review by bambitheslug
(Posted on 1/3/15)
I was given watches before when I was younger, but they were mostly cheap garbage that didn't last more than a few months. Years went by, and my girlfriend constantly begged me to let her buy me a watch, but I kept telling her I had no need for one because I always carried a phone. For the past few months, I've found myself working on the computer anyway, and I can do most of my communication using Google Voice anyway. Long story short, for the past half a year or so, I haven't carried a smartphone or any phone outside, and my interest and need for watches was renewed.

My girlfriend helped me pick out this model during our trip in Hong Kong, and I really like it. It's built very solidly. There is no wiggle in anything, and it feels like it could take a beating. It has no problems being under the fauct when I wash my hands after going to the bathroom. The face is relatively small, which I didn't like at first, but I got used to over time as it puts very little stress on my wrist, and it's not hard to read. The time passes by reasonably accurate. I don't know about long-term accuracy, but within a given day, the difference between my watch and my computer's time doesn't really change.

My only disappointments would be: 1) I didn't have much time to do research on watch brands and prices at the time, so I paid a little more in the airport at Hong Kong than had I bought it online here in the US; 2) The date feature doesn't seem that well thought-out or necessary. The watch shows a number at the bottom that is supposed to represent the date, but quite frankly, I wouldn't consider that in my purchasing decision. There's no good way to tell if it's set to AM or PM, so when you set it the first time, there's a good chance it'll update the date at noon instead of midnight. Furthermore, it goes from 1-31 regardless of the month, so you'll have to change it at the end of certain months manually. I've been wrong several times with this watch when asked for the date.

Overall, I'm very happy with this watch, and it feels comfortable to wear it daily, which is nice because I'm 23 and have never worn a watch on a daily basis before. I think I may very well be in the market for a more complex and fashionable (and expensive) watch in the very near future, but I will probably continue to wear this one as it seems well-suited to my daily routine. I would use one with more dials and information if I was going on a long trip or hike and wanted the most information possible in case I got lost or had some other emergency.

Summary of the review may not sound sensible but the watch does. It is really a very good buy. Hope it stays good foreever.

Great SWATCH bought a couple days ago and received many compliments already, simple but sophisticated at the same time, excellent timepiece.

As always Swatch doesn't let one down with this model. I bought this from Dubai. Although I still think the price is on the higher side compared to the specifications but then again, the quality is excellent. So I'd say, it's worth every penny spent.
